The Town of Blacksburg Municipal Building was open with limited access Wednesday in response to threats on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg and the Montgomery County Court House in Christiansburg.

SWAT teams drew their weapons and surrounded Burruss Hall this morning in response to an unfounded threat that targeted Virginia Tech President, Charles Steger, according to Blacksburg Police Chief, Wendell Flinchum.

The nature of the threat in Christiansburg is unclear at this time.

For about 20 minutes this morning all doors to the building that houses Town of Blacksburg government offices were locked, according to the town manager’s office.

One door to the building is open and people can enter the building and access clerk’s office. The Christiansburg Police Department has not yet been reached for comment. Updates will be posted here as they become available.

I don't think that it is Charles Stegers fault. i feel right now is a sad time and everyone has lost a loved one and we need to moran and be there for easch other not making bomb threats and making it worse. Grow up we need to stop the violence.I am afraid it will never stop. This just opened a whole new page in our lives.

look i understand he had problems but we all do and he did not have any right what so ever to take it out on tons of innocent people who did not deserve to lose their lives. Now he has caused more people pain then he had. if him breaking up with his girl friend was going to cause this then he should have just left wheat ever problems they had alone. i think this is ridiculous. May the people who lost their lived rest in peace even the one who commited the act. EVEN though it was WRONG!!!
